From what I could tell from the pictures it looks like Henderson layed out the headstock so that the strings would run into the tuner below it. Why does he do this and how well does it work?

I don't know why he would do that...Blueridge guitars are always being criticized for doing it...but from what I have heard it does not make any difference in the sound, no buzzing, etc...
